If you haven’t guessed it already, I have a pretty big sweet tooth…OK a very big sweet tooth!

I am always looking for ways to curb my sweet cravings/create healthy alternatives to the sweet treats I love. That is not to say I don’t enjoy sweet treats because who doesn’t?! But I am NOT one of those “I’ll just have one square of chocolate and put the rest of the packet back in the cupboard” kind of girl… no… I’m more the “quick eat it all at once before anyone sees” kind of girl…sound familiar?!

Coconut & Cumin Banana Bread

Banana bread is one of my all time favourite things to bake and with my super sweet tooth I often tend to bake sweet banana bread adding choc chips, blueberries etc. So how about a sweet & savoury bake this time around?!

I came up with the idea of making a coconut and cumin flavoured banana bread after trying out Bounce‘s delicious new vegan range of energy balls. I would never have thought of putting these two distinct flavours together but they create the perfect balance between sweet and savoury (this is coming from someone who buys sweet and salty popcorn at the cinema!).

A slice of this loaf makes for the perfect afternoon pick-me-up or even just a quick breakfast on the go. It is deliciously moist and fluffy and the cumin really gives it an unusual twist! Continue reading

Super Simple Almond & Kale Chips

When the babes at Bounce asked me to come up with some recipes inspired by their new Vegan V Life range of protein balls, I was pretty delighted. Bounce is one of my FAVOURITE healthy protein snack brands and I have always loved trying out all of their different flavoured protein balls (cacao mint being my all time favourite!). I was even happier when I received a wonderful package full of fresh vegetables, nuts and spices with which to test out my creations (and of course the new Bounce balls!).

I was so intrigued by the delicious new flavour combinations Bounce had come up with, including Coconut Cumin, Beetroot Cashew and Almond Kale.

Step out of your comfort zone at UN1T

It’s South London’s hottest new gym and everyone is talking about it. UN1T’s mantra is clear – it’s emblazoned all over the studio – “we train as one”. It’s pretty simple really, work hard, work together, get results.
I tried out 3 classes at UN1T over the course of a week. Each day of the week has a different class focussing on strength, cardio and mobility. With the addition of dynamic yoga, there is something for everyone but you have to be prepared to work hard!
